What is Asteroid Ointment™ and what is it used for?

Asteroid Ointment™ is a rapid-acting cooling barrier ointment for burning, discomfort, soreness and itching associated with external hemorrhoids and minor anal irritation.

What is in Asteroid Ointment™?

Asteroid Ointment™ contains a specially formulated blend of Zinc Oxide, Mentholum, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, NZ Manuka Honey (certified organic), and White Soft Paraffin.

Who can use Asteroid Ointment™?

Asteroid Ointment™ is suitable for adults affected by external hemorrhoids and minor anal itching. Asteroid Ointment™ should not be used if there is bleeding in the anal region.

Can Asteroid Ointment™ be used in pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Asteroid Ointment™ should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How can Asteroid Ointment™ be used?

Asteroid Ointment™ can be applied up to three times daily until the condition is controlled. For best results apply a small amount to a wipe or toilet tissue and apply gently after a bowel motion. Do not apply if there is bleeding from the anal region.

 

What are the possible side effects of Asteroid Ointment™?

Like all preparations, Asteroid Ointment™ may cause side effects, although side effects have only rarely been reported with this and similar preparations. Side effects may vary between individuals depending on the condition of hemorrhoids and anal region. Possible side effects may include a brief cooling or heating sensation on application. Sensitivity reactions have been rarely reported.

 

Avoid using Asteroid Ointment™ if you are bleeding from the anal region or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed on the packaging. If you experience sensitivity reactions, stop using the ointment and consult your doctor.

Avoid getting into the eyes.

What about driving and using machines?

Asteroid Ointment™ does not normally produce any effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

How long can Asteroid Ointment™ be safely used for?

Asteroid Ointment™ is safe for daily use until the condition is controlled. However, seek medical advice if symptoms persist or remain troublesome.

How should Asteroid Ointment™ be stored?

For best results, Asteroid Ointment™ should be stored at room temperature. Store at room temperature 68°-77°F (20°-25°C)

The expiry date of Asteroid Ointment™ can be found on the tube and on the flap of the carton.

How long does Asteroid Ointment™ last once the tube has been opened?
